About Friends of the Arts
We are a 35-year-old non-profit regional arts council that provides over 32 towns and 41 schools throughout Central New Hampshire with affordable and accessible art programs. Our office is located in Silver Center for the Arts on the Plymouth State University (PSU) campus. PSU has also been our generous supporter for many years through donating both space and resources. We have a great staff, an average of 16 Trustees and over 100 volunteers. We are all members of the communities we serve: as teachers, business owners, artists, coaches, interior decorators, web designers, doctors, parents, military service members, retirees and students from all walks of life. We believe in improving the quality of our schools, communities and lives through art, and show our dedication and commitment to this belief by giving time, talent and resources.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to present quality visual and performing arts that are affordable and accessible to children and adults both as observers and participants. We are dedicated to arts education, enrichment and improving the patronage and support of New Hampshire artists. Our policy is that no individual will be turned away from participating in our programs due to insufficient funds.
